Norwich City manager Daniel Farke has today definitively shut down the speculation linking star man Emi Buendia with a move to Arsenal.

Gunners links

Recent weeks have of course seen Canaries attacker Buendia hotly tipped for a return to the Premier League.

The Argentine is currently in the midst of a superb campaign in the Championship, which has seen him notch 7 goals and 7 assists across 20 appearances.

Such impressive exploits have inevitably piqued the attentions of a number of top-flight sides, with one in particular, in the form of Arsenal, long said to have been considering a January swoop.

This of course comes with the Gunners having struggled in the final third over lengthy stretches of the season to date, with the club’s main source of creativity of years gone by – Mesut Ozil – set to seal a move to Fenerbahce any day now.

Buendia, in turn, would likely represent a shrewd addition, with the 24-year-old having proven his abilities in and around the box for several years running now.

‘No’

As outlined above, however, if the latest comments on the part of his manager are anything to go by, then Mikel Arteta and co., for the time being at least, may be better served in moving on to other targets.

Speaking in a press conference ahead of Norwich’s meeting with Bristol City on Wednesday, Daniel Farke was drawn on the inevitable spike in speculation linking Buendia with Arsenal, ahead of Ozil’s imminent departure.

The Canaries boss, however, was in no mood to mince words, simply stating that such a move ‘won’t happen’:
