F. Chiesa

Yellow Card

Juventus

7′ The first yellow card of the match goes the way of Chiesa, who can’t believe his luck. There appeared to be a bit of hand-fighting between the winger and Lasagna – with the Juventus player deemed the responsible party.

6′ De Maio catches Dybala extremely late with a challenge across the thigh, sending the Juventus forward to the turf. It’s a free-kick for Juve in midfield as the Udinese centre-back escapes without a booking.

5′ Ronaldo drives at Larsen and cuts inside on the edge of the 18-yard box from the left, driving a shot towards goal which rolls just wide of Musso’s target.

3′ Attacking down the right to start the match, Juve are finding little joy as Chiesa is forced to return the ball back to De Ligt in defence after Udinese close down quickly.

1′ Udinese get the match underway from the kick-off!

Udinese make two changes of their own from the side that lost 2-0 to Benevento on December 23. Rodrigo Becao makes way for De Maio in defence, while Arslan drops to the bench to allow Walace to anchor the midfield.

Juventus make two changes from their XI that lost 3-0 to Fiorentina last time out. Juan Cuadrado misses the match due to suspension which allows Danilo to step into defence, while Dybala partners Ronaldo instead of Alvaro Morata.

UDINESE SUBS: Fernando Forestieri, Ilija Nestorovski, Hidde Ter Avest, Nahuel Molina, Tolgay Arslan, Martin Palumbo, Rolando Mandragora, Jean-Victor Makengo, Simone Scuffet, Manuel Gasparini, Mamadou Coulibaly.

UDINESE XI (3-5-2): Juan Musso; Sebastien De Maio, Kevin Bonifazi, Samir; Jens Stryger Larsen, Rodrigo De Paul, Walace, Roberto Pereyra, Marvin Zeegelaar; Kevin Lasagna, Ignacio Pussetto.

With 15 minutes to go before kick-off, let’s take a look at how the two sides are lining up – starting with the hosts!

Udinese haven’t managed a win in their last three games after going on a run of three consecutive victories in Serie A; a streak that has them in 13th place. A perilous four points outside of the relegation zone but with two games in-hand, the Friuli club are looking at another season of consolidation in midtable.

Juventus return from their holiday and take to the pitch looking to make amends for their shock 3-0 defeat to Fiorentina 12 days ago. The Bianconeri sit seventh in the table with 24 points, but have played fewer matches than all of their rivals above them, and can go into fifth position with a win.
