Liverpool transfer news: Sanches boost, Berardi interest & Salah contract update

Liverpool transfer news

In this article, we’ll cover all of today’s Liverpool transfer news.

Renato Sanches pursuit boost

Liverpool’s pursuit of Portuguese midfielder Renato Sanches has been given a boost as one of their rivals looks unable to compete for his signature.

According to French outlet le10sport, Barcelona are interested in the midfielder, however because of their financial restraints they are unable to match offers of the other clubs eyeing up the former Bayern Munich man.

Having lost Gini Wijnaldum to PSG, Liverpool have been on the lookout for a central midfielder and see Renato Sanches as a possible option to add to Jurgen Klopp’s team next season.

Domenico Berardi interest

One position Liverpool seem to be on the lookout to strengthen in this window is their wider areas after Sadio Mane had a difficult campaign last season and was eclipsed by new edition Diogo Jota.

According to Corriere dello Sport (via MilanNews), Liverpool see Sassuolo winger Domenico Berardi as a possible option.

Berardi had a fantastic European Championship in which he aided in his country’s victory over England in the final.

He has been with Sassuolo for much of his career and now looks set to earn a big-money move.

Could Liverpool be the club in waiting?

Salah talks ‘not at final stages’

Berardi could however be brought in as a replacement. Liverpool have so far been unable to tie down Mohamed salah into a new contract.

The Egyptian international was not allowed to leave the club for the Olympics in Tokyo this summer with Jurgen Klopp hoping to have him available for the start of the new season.

The contract talks between the clubs have been ongoing for sometime but as of yet no agreement has been found.

Transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano has said that current talks are yet to reach the ‘final stages.’

“This [contract talks between the club and Salah] is not at the final stages yet,” Romano told Anfield Watch.

“They [the club and Salah] have been talking but nothing is advanced yet.”

A big side may see this as a prime chance to steal a march on the Reds and convince Salah to leave.
