Mino Raiola is one crafty agent
Balotelli’s Liverpool farce
Mario Balotelli has put his Liverpool nightmare behind him, and is reinventing and discovering himself at French club Nice.
After 2 years as a Liverpool player (one of which was spent on loan at Milan), Mario’s stock had nosedived to the point that it seemed no European club wanted him; damaged goods.
Just a couple of years previous, it seemed like Balotelli had the world at his feet.
But for a multitude of reasons – poor attitude, lack of faith from managers, a social media addiction – things never worked out for him at Liverpool.
He managed just one league goal for the Reds in his active season there, and spent most of his time either injured or on the bench.
But at least he was handsomely paid.
Paid not to spit on someone three times
Because regardless of where the rest of his career takes him, Balotelli will retire a very wealthy man, thanks mainly to his agent Mino Raiola.
The Italian is renowned as the wiliest and smartest agent in the business; this summer he earned around 20m pounds on Paul Pogba’s transfer alone.
And he always makes sure his players are well looked after: as the Sunday Times detail today, his Liverpool contract contained a bonus which ensured he would receive a bonus of 1m pounds if he refrained from spitting on people.
