A hectic transfer deadline day at Liverpool has continued this evening, with a 2nd addition to Jurgen Klopp’s squad having been confirmed, but another Reds star set to depart.

Reds reinforcing

The Premier League club to have taken centre stage as the winter window inches ever closer to slamming shut have of course been Liverpool.

This comes with the Reds, amid a widely discussed injury crisis at the heart of the club’s backline, having finally swooped to rectify the situation.

First, earlier this evening, word was forthcoming that the champions had pushed a deal for Preston North End’s Ben Davies over the line.

The stopper has arrived at Anfield in a cut-price deal, ahead of the expiration of his Lilywhites contract in the summer, as Michael Edwards and co. continue to add to their ever-impressive resume of shrewd dealings on the transfer front:

And, as outlined above, such stellar business has since only continued to develop on the red half of Merseyside on deadline day.

This comes with Liverpool having secured their 2nd defensive reinforcement of the day, in the form of highly regarded Turkish international Ozan Kabak:

20-year-old Kabak has linked up with Jurgen Klopp’s squad on loan for the remainder of the campaign, with further updates suggesting that the Reds will have the option to make his arrival permanent in the summer for just £18 million, plus add-ons:

St. Mary’s bound

Whilst the focus at Anfield on Monday, for obvious reasons, has therefore centered on incomings, it is also looking increasingly likely that a high-profile departure from Klopp’s ranks will too be forthcoming over the coming hour.

As per a mounting number of reports this evening, Takumi Minamino is closing on a loan departure from Merseyside, with the Japanese international primed for a move to Southampton:
