A bad week for Zlatan Ibrahimovic could get worse if the Mirror‘s hunch is right. The Swedish forward followed a frustrating game against Burnley with a seething display of aggressive outbursts in Turkey. At one point, Ibrahimovic grabbed Fenerbahce defender Simon Kjaer by the neck and put his hands on an official when he tried to stop him.
The Swede was irritated by poor service and a defence that were giving as good as they got. He rarely got a sniff and his passing was terrible. Ibrahimovic had initially been dropped or rested, however you wish to view it, before coming on as a first-half substitute for the injured Paul Pogba. He’s only scored once in his last ten matches.
Now, having gotten away with choking at the time, Ibrahimovic could be set for retrospective action. If referee Milorad Mažić says he missed it at the time, video officials will review the case. A ban is looking likely.
